Brian Screaton

I was born in Leicester but my wife and I have lived in Cosby since 1972, first on one side of Cambridge Road and then on the other. I am a retired Chartered Surveyor and was formerly a partner in the firm of Shakespear McTurk and Graham in Leicester. I have always had a keen interest in local history and I collect old postcards, photographs and ephemera. Whilst still a relative newcomer to Cosby I have nevertheless seen a lot of changes in the village. In 1972 it was still very much an industrial village with numerous factories and two large haulage yards. Over the years these have all been demolished and redeveloped.
